
Saul Martinez Appointed Manager, URS Hunter Region Operations
Key appointment as firm seeks to expand services to the Hunter Valley mining sector
SYDNEY, NSW — February , 2009 — Engineering and environmental professional services firm URS Australia has appointed Saul Martinez as Manager, Hunter Region Operations, strengthening the firm’s position as a leading contributor in the Hunter Valley mining sector.
Mr Martinez brings with him over 16 years experience in the engineering and mining sector, having been involved in significant infrastructure developments across the globe.
Mr Martinez joins URS Australia’s Hunter Valley operations after working in the firm’s Brisbane office for the past five years, and had worked for a leading civil engineering consultancy in the UK as well as the Brisbane City Council prior to this.
Commenting on the appointment of Mr Martinez, URS Regional Manager NSW & ACT Matt Coetzee said Mr Martinez brings a very high calibre of engineering and mining sector experience to the role.
"Saul has wealth of experience across the mining industry and has expertise managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects across the mining, energy and petrochemical sectors. As an expert in mine water management and river engineering, Saul's role is to expand our service delivery to the mining sector in the Hunter Valley," he said.
"Saul has also worked in local government and brings a strong understanding of the regulatory and planning requirements. Also, his technical expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, as well as civil design and infrastructure will ensure his projects are managed in a comprehensive and efficient manner," he said.
