URS has a reputation for delivering sensible, practicable environmental management and risk mitigation solutions for the Australian Defence Organisation (ADO). URS has developed a partnership with Defence, focused upon formulating innovative measures which promote the environmentally responsible and sustainable conduct of Defence activities. Fundamental tenets of the URS approach are to:

• maintain and improve Defence capability in support of the mission of the defence of Australia and its national interests;
• assist Defence to recognise and reduce environmental compliance risks incumbent in applicable legislation and policies; and

URS has a strong pedigree in the support of the ADO, This is particularly evident within the realms of the acquisition, in-service support, training and exercising, deployment and decommissioning and disposal of front-line capabilities, and associated aspects regarding basing and land, sea and air range, training and exercise areas. This specialist skill with Defence capability assets is augmented by our wider, extensive experience and capability with conventional environmental support services applicable to as large and diverse an organisation as the ADO.
