URS provides professional project management services to the Defence Support Group Infrastructure Asset Division (DSG-IAD) responsible for supporting defence capability and base redevelopments by delivering fit for purpose facilities and engineering infrastructure. Our work includes the development of strategic and detailed business cases, Public Works Committee evidence, engagement of the contractors and /or design consultants, design management and contract administration.

This has been demonstrated by our recent work at HMAS ALBATROSS whereby URS are providing project management services for the Stage 3 redevelopment. The project entails the delivery of new and refurbished facilities and significant upgrade and replacement of engineering infrastructure services for approximately $90 million.

URS also undertake early planning studies for defence to assist DSG to prepare briefs for major capital works and prepare estate planning guidelines for future developments on defence bases around the country.

URS have in-house engineering design capability with specialist knowledge in explosive ordnance facilities, alternative structural solutions and aircraft pavements.

URS have significant capability in property disposal and site remediation for defence sites based upon our experience at Fort Wallace, Stockton Rifle Range, Moorebank former Ammunition Depot, and Maribyrnong.
