Our approach to Systems Engineering is to provide a holistic Certification capability where Systems Safety Engineering, Fit for Purpose Techniques (V&V / T&E) and Environmental Compliance will enable any Defence Project to be delivered and operationally released for service. Services provided to defence include Test and Evaluation and Systems Safety for RAN Guided Missile Frigate Upgrade, Systems Safety technical advisory assistance for the Replacement Combat System on the Collins Class Submarine and certification consultancy for the facilities for Damage Control Training at the RAN School of Survivability and Ship Safety. Our current work for the Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) centres on the environmental compliance, with the identification of risks with regard to operations and through-life support of the AWDs and the development of a strategy to achieve the necessary environmental approvals for the introduction into service, operation and through-life support of the AWD capability.
URS has the capability to utilise an experienced group of systems engineering professionals who have had experience delivering services to the ADF in both platforms and capability for DMO and facilities projects for DSG. This team brings the technical expertise, current experience and a commitment to efficiently and effectively execute systems engineering processes considered today as standard industry practice.
We also have personnel who can deliver trials programmes for test and evaluation and other trials, whether they are experimental, tactical development or continuation training. We can direct the execution of these trials with appropriate reports and data collection. We have in–house Weapons Testing expertise.
URS also has the capability to draw upon the services of URS Corporation and EGG&G in the US, who provide services to many US programs including NASA, US Armed Forces Helicopter Training, USN Virginia Class Submarine Program (PMS 450) and services to the USAF UAV program.
