Catchment

URS appreciates the diversity of challenges confronting natural resource managers today. Degradation of soils and waterways, loss of biodiversity, and threats to infrastructure pose serious threats to the sustainability of both rural and urban communities. Dealing with these challenges requires an integrated approach to management at a catchment scale, and the active participation of stakeholders in planning and decision making.

URS's team includes practitioners that span the biophysical sciences, economics and social sciences, and offers clients a full range of services in soil and landscape management.

Our services include:
  • numerical modelling of water flow and quality, and sediment transport
  • salinity assessment and management
  • landscape and land capability studies
  • sustainability assessment of river salinity, salinity mitigation and groundwater control works
  • financial and economic analysis
  • integrated catchment management planning
