We assist our clients to comply with current and emerging legislation and Government policy in this area.

URS is also at the forefront of sequestration technologies (carbon capture and storage), especially for large point sources such as power plants. We have solid national and international experience in providing carbon sequestration advice which includes geological and hydrogeological assessments.

URS regularly advises multinational clients on the role of forests as natural carbon sinks and identifying risks, returns and uncertainties in relation to the trade of forest carbon in emerging carbon markets. In addition to policy and protocol advice we are accredited to conduct auditing of forest carbon accounting systems, and have the expertise to carry out resource analyses to optimise forest management for timber and carbon sequestration value.
