URS has extensive in-house civil, structural and electrical engineering drafting capabilities.

Our systems and software are compatible with the large percentage of our clients and subcontractor software to ensure there are no issues in the sharing of data and files.

Road Design within URS is undertaken utilising the MX road design software to develop terrain models and road alignment models. These models are used in the development of the road design and documentation.

More and more construction agencies are utilizing MX model data as direct input to survey instruments for setting out. URS can provide design models from MX software that can be input directly to survey instruments for setout and level control.

Drainage design is undertaken using DRAINS and 12D software. The terrain models and utility data provided from MX are input to 12D and 3-dimensional models developed. Catchment analysis is undertaken and a DRAINS model developed to determine the hydrology and hydraulics of the system under consideration. The output of the hydraulic analysis is then transferred to 12D for development of documentation. Plan layouts and pipe long sections are developed from the 12D model.
